Spice Jet
Spice Jet is India’s second-largest low-cost carrier. The airline started operations in mid-2005, and is now listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. Growing steadily since then it has captured around 18% of the market before running into severe financial problems in 2014. As a result the airline has to cancel a number of flights, which affected its reputation and the market share saw drop of 6%. Receiving new finance in 2015 and a makeover of brand in the coming years, the airline had a remarkable recovery under the new management and it quickly became profitable. Spice Jet offers discounted prices for promotion at times. The airline has a passenger load factor of 90% which is the highest for an Indian airline. On-time performance also is among the best in the country. Spice Jet is based in Delhi and has hubs in Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata. It services 45 domestic and seven international destinations, with a fleet of Boeing and Bombardier Dash aircraft. SpiceMax is the premium service option, which includes extra leg room, and priority baggage handling.

Go Air
Go Air is a small privately owned low cost carrier that started operating in late 2005. It is based in Mumbai and has growly slowly to capture 8.5% of the market share. It owns fleet of 21 Airbus A320 airplanes and flies to 23 destinations in India. In particular, it services remote locations such as Leh, Srinagar and Guwahati. The airline is among the cheapest domestic airlines in the country. However, there is a common complaint about its punctuality which has improved in recent times.

Trujet
Trujet is a new regional south Indian airline. Based in Hyderabad, it started operations in July 2015 to connect Tier I cities with tier II and II cities. A unique feature about the airline is its focus cities are pilgrim destinations such as Tirupati and Aurangabad, from where a free bus is provided to Shirdi. It is privately owned is backed by a number of investors including a Telugu actor. It has a fleet of 3 ATR 72-500. It has a market share of 0.5%. With a cancellation rate of about 13%, there is substantial scope for improvement.
Even though there are differences in services of the airlines, they help in connecting cities across the country and abroad. All, the three airlines operate flights to Delhi to Chennai.
