iPhone Brightness Keeps Dimming (FIX 2022)

Fix iPhone Display Dimming

Your iPhone’s display keeps dimming due to features that automatically adjust the screen’s brightness or color based on light conditions or battery life.

Manually adjust the brightness levels.

The brightness of your iPhone’s screen is pre-set to adapt to the lighting conditions around you. On a sunny day, for example, you can expect it to be at its peak.

It’s also possible to disable this feature if it’s not to your liking. In order to do this, open the “Settings” app on your iPhone and navigate to the “Accessibility” section.

Tap “Display & Text Size” in Accessibility.

Toggle “Auto-Brightness” by flipping the switch next to the “Display & Text Size” option at the bottom.

The brightness of your iPhone will no longer be automatically adjusted. In Control Center, you’ll have to adjust the brightness bar manually. Facing Issues with Yahoo Mail Not Working on iPhone? Here is the Fix!

Disable Any Features That Require Your Attention

In order to conserve battery life, your iPhone may dim the screen if it thinks you’re not using it. Try disabling this feature for a day to see if it affects the brightness of your phone’s screen.

Accessibility > Face ID & Attention can be disabled by going to the settings menu, then selecting “Attention-Aware Features.”

Examine the True Tone Option for Problems

If you’ve got an iPhone 8 or higher, you can adjust the display’s colour temperature and intensity based on the light in your room. Even if you’re successful, it’s not guaranteed, especially if you’re constantly on the move.

To keep your display’s look consistent and to prevent it from fluctuating, you should turn off True Tone. Navigate to Display & Brightness in Settings. Tap ‘true tone” option

Make sure to turn off Night Shift.

Using Night Shift may also be interfering with your screen’s brightness. You can use it at night to make your screen’s colours more comfortable on your eyes by warming them up. However, your phone’s screen may appear dimmer than usual once the change takes effect.

Your phone’s brightness issues may be solved by deactivating Night Shift. Go to Display & Brightness in Settings and select “Night Shift.”

Turn off the switch next to “Scheduled” in the “Night Shift” settings to turn off the “Night Shift” mode.

Extend the Auto-Lock Time of Your iPhone

To conserve battery life, the iPhone locks and turns off the screen when it is not in use. Just before it does that, the screen dims to let you know it’s about to shut down.

You can, however, extend the time it takes for your iPhone to lock if your iPhone screen keeps dimming frequently.

In Settings > Display & Brightness, select “Auto-Lock.”

You can now set a new “Auto-Lock” time period in the menu that pops up. The “Never” option is also available if you never want your iPhone to be locked by itself.

How to stop the iPhone Screen from dimming?

As a means of preventing the screen from becoming dim,

When the iPhone gets too hot, many users have noticed that the brightness is automatically reduced. Officials have yet to confirm this.

When your phone has cooled down, you can try the following fixes while you figure out what’s wrong:

Automatic Brightness Adjustment Is Off.

  1. Go to iPhone settings.
  2. To find the “Accessibility” section, go to the bottom of the page.
  3. Display and Text Size
  4. To disable “Auto-Brightness,” scroll down and click on it.

Turn off features that monitor your attention.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.
  2. Input your password.
  3. Down below, you’ll find the most important features.

Disable all of your True Tone settings.

Using advanced sensors, your display’s colour and brightness should be adjusted to match the lighting conditions. There is no change in brightness when it is turned off.

Open the iPhone’s settings.

Truetone can be found in the Display & Brightness section, which can be found by scrolling down.

What kind of mode is it in?

All processes on your mobile phone are either slowed down or halted in low power mode. It is also possible to reduce the brightness, which doesn’t appear to be resource-intensive.

  1. Go to the iPhone’s Settings app.
  2. The Battery is where you need to go.
  3. Low power mode should be turned off

Take a look at the Lock Screen Dimming Section

Your iPhone’s Quick Settings menu is where you’ll find this information.

Do not disturb and lock screen options can be found further down the page.

Turn off the option to dim the lock screen by clicking on it.

Your iPhone’s Settings can be reset.

Resetting the device may be necessary if the previous method fails. Before implementing this solution, make a copy of your data in the cloud.

  1. Go to the iPhone’s settings and select General > Reset
  2. Select General from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select Reset from the drop-down menu.
  4. Select “reset all settings.”
  5. Input the passwords you use to log in (both phone and Screen time)
  6. To reset all settings, click on the pop-up box and select “Reset all settings.”
  7. It should begin the process of resetting.
  8. Let go of features like automatic brightness adjustment and attention detection.

Make Sure Your Ambient Light Sensor Is Working Correctly

Using this sensor, you can adjust the brightness of your device based on how much light is in the room.

If all of your fixes have failed, then you should take this component to a repair shop to have it checked out. The most common causes of this sensor malfunctioning are dust and blockage.
