Simplest Ways to Beat the Summer Heat in 2022

Nothing beats a cold midsummer drink when the weather is hot, but be aware that many alcoholic drinks, specialty drinks (like iced coffees and milkshakes), and sodas can be high in sugars and added calories. Be watchful of how many of these drinks you have while away, and when possible, choose water and try adding lemon, Cucumber, or orange slices for flavor. To change the taste, you can try Folgers k-cups

While on vacation, many of us eat whatever (and however much) we want. But overeating can lead to digestive issues and feelings of shame and guilt once you return home.

On the flip side, being too strict can impact the quality of your vacation. Constantly worrying about calories and food can take away from relishing your holiday, and restricting yourself too much isn’t much of a vacation!

Avoid rationale in black and white while on vacation moderation is key! Plan to eat well most of the time, but don’t divest yourself of the rare luxury. Plan to indulge a few times over your holiday, so you’re able to enjoy it

Usage of air conditioner

We’ve all experienced the mental lethargy that comes with a day that is just too hot. There’s a technical basis for this. According to an article in related, the energy the body expends trying to cool itself down takes away from our ability to think and reason. When offices are air-conditioned, people can work better and make better decisions.

It’s not just our brains that agonize from the heat, either. When the mercury rises, so do tempers.  As an article on Today.com explains, while our brains are decelerating, our bodies are speeding up with increased heart rates and higher blood pressure. All this leads to more violent behavior, making an excellent environment key to maintaining peace at home, work, and in public seats.

Those same bodily changes, higher heart rate, and blood pressure that makes us angry can also make it next to impossible to get a good night’s sleep. One’s core body temperature is also a critical factor in getting to and staying asleep. A too hot (or cold) room delays natural temperature regulation, which doctors say functions best at 65 and 75 degrees.

Note: for the HVAC maintenance, never delay the appointments.

Dress in Loose Clothes

Technical fabrics are typically moisture-wicking, but they’re also tight, which isn’t always great for summer. If you’re a fan of athleisure, swap your usual black leggings and sweatshirt for colorful bike shorts, tank tops, or short-sleeve crop tops.

Choose breathable fabrics. It may not matter during the rest of the year, but you’ll notice the difference between breathable fabrics and fabrics that trap moisture during the summer. Synthetics usually aren’t breathable, so check clothing labels to guarantee your clothes are 100 percent linen, cotton, or silk. If you want to play with texture, try eyelet and seersucker.

Ditch jeans. Denim is one of the weightiest fabrics. If you wear stretch jeans or skinny jeans, you may find them too warm for your summer style. Look for lightweight cotton or linen pants instead. If you must wear denim, opt for wide-leg jeans, which still allow for some air circulation.
