Seth Meyers celebrates as Mike Lindell, Rudy Giuliani, and Sidney Powell face defamation suit for election fraud claims. He calls them “Trump-adjacent weirdos”. [Bad News Weirdos Seth Meyers]
Key Takes:
- A federal judge has ruled out Mike Lindell, Rudy Giuliani, and Sidney Powell in a defamation suit for making unfounded claims of election fraud
- Late-night comedians Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert are finding humor in the situation and making fun of the Trump-adjacent weirdos
- Dominion Voting Systems has filed a $1 billion defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani, who is also facing high legal fees and suspension of his law license in both Washington and New York
In a recent hearing, what Seth Meyer calls Trump-Adjacent Weirdos (Mike Lindell, Rudy Giuliani, and Sidney Powell) were ruled out by a federal judge. This was bad news to Trump, however, American comedian and TV star Seth Meyers felt delighted.
In his “Late Night” episode on Thursday following the judge’s ruling, Seth Meyers didn’t miss the chance of making fun of Trump and his three “acquaintances?”

“Okay, so there are only two plausible explanations for what happened here: Either a federal judge appointed by Donald Trump ruled that unfounded claims of election fraud made by three Trump allies were not exempt from defamation laws, or Hugo Chavez teamed up with China and the C.I.A. to use Italian military satellites to hack the judge’s computer and alter his opinion, which was then printed out on paper smuggled in from China covered in bamboo fibers,” said Seth Meyers on the show.
“So Trump’s gang of weirdos has these big defamation lawsuits hanging over their heads. I’m guessing, It’s not exactly going to help Rudy Giuliani in 2018, according to a newly released transcript from an interview with federal agents. He basically admitted that he thinks it’s okay to lie during a political campaign,” he added. [Bad News Weirdos Seth Meyers]
Rudy told federal agents it was okay to ‘throw a fake’ during a political campaign. First of all, why did he use the term ‘throw a fake?’ Was he watching a boxing match in the back of a Staten Island butcher shop?” Seth Meyers made fun.
“[As Giuliani] I paid him 100 bucks to throw a fake. I told him to take one hit and then make this face.” Seth Meyers mimicked Rudy Giuliani.
“But the funniest part about this admission from Rudy, though, is that it was seemingly totally unnecessary. His law partner at the time, a guy names Marc Mukasey, was trying to gently explain that sometimes, people in general exaggerate in political campaigns. Not Rudy specifically, but Rudy couldn’t help but chime in and confess,” said Meyers on the Late Night show.
Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert had a Good Laugh
Late-night comedians Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert had a field day poking fun at MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, who received bad news on camera during a live-streamed symposium on election fraud.
Meyers called Lindell’s reaction to the news his “new kink,” while Colbert joked that Lindell’s “irrefutable evidence” of election hacking was likely just a bag of “dry cleaning slips and CVS receipts.” The comedians had a good laugh at Lindell’s expense, with Meyers quipping,
“Poor cyberexperts. You go to school to get a degree in computer science, and then a psycho pillow magnate hands you what I’m guessing is a garbage bag full of pillowcases.”
Rudy Giuliani, the former Mayor of New York City and ex-personal attorney to Donald Trump, is in some serious trouble. Dominion Voting Systems has filed a $1 billion defamation lawsuit against him, and he is also facing high legal fees and suspension of his law license in both Washington and New York.
Seth Meyers and Stephen Colbert are finding humor in the situation, with Meyers joking that he would have loved to see Giuliani’s reaction to the news, while Colbert quipped that Giuliani’s stack of legal fees is piled up next to a collection of empty Franzia boxes. [Bad News Weirdos Seth Meyers]
